Town Chaplains, lay and ordained, from across the churches, will be like Street Pastors in the daytime. Out in the Town Centre speaking to people, building up relationships with the businesses and staff, offering a helping hand for those around town. Chaplains will also direct people who may be distressed to the church building for a space to sit and be, get a cup of tea or coffee and a listening ear.
